One of four market watchers featured in the piece, he discussed why rates staying a bit higher than investors may have at first been anticipating is not a concern as they now have more certainty about the Fed’s likely course. He said that he doesn’t see the likelihood of a return to “the rock-bottom rates” that followed the 2008 Financial Crisis, adding, “The normalization of rates is more important than where the Fed might go next year.”
