The Institutional Share Class of our flagship portfolio, Royce Small-Cap Fund, was highlighted by Morningstar’s fund reporter, Gabe Alper, who said that Morningstar looked at fund returns within its Small Blend category over the last one-, three-, and five-year periods, excluding funds with assets under $100 million and analyst coverage that was not 100%. Six funds made it through his screen.

6 Top-Performing Small Blend Funds | Morningstar

Alpert described the Fund’s portfolio management team—Portfolio Managers Lauren Romeo, Jay Kaplan, Steven McBoyle, Andrew Palen, Miles Lewis, and Co-Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager Francis Gannon, as “A solid mix of veteran and up-and-coming managers” and said that the Fund’s “approach and portfolio shouldn’t change much” since the retirement of our founder, Chuck Royce.

In Morningstar’s Small Blend category (all share classes included), there were 624 funds for the 1-year period, 588 for the 3-year period, and 569 for the 5-year period.
